Lemonade

It's Saturday and that meanswe have a new challenge over at Catch the Bug. This week we're having a PHOTO challenge.

I was inspired by the yellow and green colors. I also chose a creature with wings - meet "Poppi Penguin" - you can find him in the Bugaboo store here.

I colored him with Promarkers, fussy cut him and added glossy accent to the lemonade details and sunglasses. The sentiment was sent to me by Monika - thank you so much! I just added some WoS on it for a little sparkle.

This card is also for:

    Colorful

A photo challenge which is also kind of a color challenge - that's something that would usually scare me away. But I recognzed the colors as the ones of some of my newest Distress Inks and I thought, why not use them all!

Made the background, sort of had a plan of doing something else but found the colors to give me more of an 80s vibe, so out came my unused robot stamp from a My Minds Eye set, heat set it and colored it using grey Promarkers. Needed to spike up the background, so used the number stencil from Tim Holtz. The background is made using a stitched frame die from Dienamics, put cut the paper to put on top of it, so it works as a panel and not a frame.
The design is much like the card in my previous post, but the colors give the card a different feel I think. There are no embellies on here and the background made of inks was very quick to make. All in all, this must be one of my quickest makes ever.

    This card is for:

    Monster and numbers

I still love my patterned papers, but I also love trying to use my stencils and inks more. So for this monster I decided to make a background using my Tim Holtz number stencil and black DI.

I colored the image using Promarkers and stamped a sentiment on a die cut banner and placed it in the monster's hands. I machine stitched around the edges.

And there isn't really much more to say about this CAS card...If you want to pick up this image for free I suggest you pop over to the Bugaboo website as it's this week's Friday Freebie image.

    This card is also for:

      Happy 50th Birthday, Sandie

It's Sandie's 50th birthday today. I've been following Sandie for some time now and I love her very CAS style. She's constantly coming up with new CAS designs and new ways to use her stash. If you don't know Sandie I highly recommend you pay her a visit over at her blog - London Days.

I know Sandie loves purple. Sorry, no purple card from me, I have all my stash tucked away as I'll be hosting a breakfast tomorrow - it's the Norwegian Constitution Day which all Norwegians celebrate in their finest outfits - and my crafting space - which actually is a dining room - needs to be used for that purpose for once.
But I had this Altenew freebie set at hand, got hold on some of the red and green inks, used some already prepared panels, circle die cut and red card base and got to work. The sentiment was also a freebie at some point, and three enamel dots (I know Sandie love those) were added.

I'm linking my card up to the birthday event hosted by Kylie of Kylie is Addicted to Stamps here as well as these challenges:

      Princess in Tower and Flowers

It's Saturday and that means a new challenge over at Catch the Bug. This week we're having a THEME challenge, Flowers Galore.

My image is called Princess Charlie - Tower and I colored it with Promarkers, added glitter to her crown, fussy cut it and attached it to a dry embossed brickwall background.

But the theme being flowers I cut out a strip with a grass border die from LaLaLand and attached my flowers of various colors and brands. I also used my new butterfly die from Poppy, cut out in golden card stock.

      This card is also for:
Crafty Boots - Queens, Princesses, Crowns
      Everybody-Art-Challenge - #368 Flowers

        Sketch time

Sunday and it's time for a new "Stella Says Sketch" challenge.
From May through August the sketch challenge over at Catch the Bug is running on a monthly basis, so you'll have plenty of time to join and still have time to work, do gardening or whatever your daily life tasks consist of.

I needed to make some more boy cards for my stash so I used the image called Bugaboo Cowboy - Fence and colored it using Promarkers.
I'm not sure of the brand of the DP, but I used the front and the back of the same sheet and added a piece of my jeans ribbon. Star brads from my stash were added and I stamped a birthday greeting in the bottom right corner.

        This card is also for:
City Crafter Challenge - #310 Feeling Prickly (star brads used)
Passion For Promarkers Challenge - #344 Nature

        Party!!!

It's Thursday and time for an OLDIE BUT GOODIE over at Catch the Bug.

I've made a birthday card which I find rather gender neutral - I like having some cards like this in my stash for any last minute needs.

I colored the image using Promarkers and added glossy accent to the balloons and the eyes.

The white paper is embossed with my new embossing folder from Spellbinders. I layeres it onto silver and black panels and machine stitched using really tiny stitches.

I added a birthday greeting made with my Dymp and 3 orange enamel dots from my stash.

        This card is also for:

Vehicles - with a feminine twist

Let me be honest. I don't belong to the group of people having a tidy desk. No, far from it. There's stuff all over the place on mine, things I like, that I plan to use soon, new and old, and sometimes all these elements just end up on the same project. It's rare, but it happens. Like with this card. I've combined elements I normally wouldn't and I was a bit daring in adding lots of stuff. But the card is still non lumpy and flat.

So how did this card come to? I was inspired by the theme of vehicles. Normally this word inspire me to make a masculine card, but I had this scrap piece with cars on it and it happened to fall down on my desk where the woman just happened to lay cut out and ready for use. The car die was on my desk too - it's been more than a year since last used. The film strip was already cut - intended but not used for a previous projcect. The same goes with the TH film strip. Lace laying around (on the floor, ahem...), bought on a trip at Easter. New NY cityscape die (Dienamics). Brown DP and the checker pattern one picked from my scrap box. Attached elements using a stapler. Added three wooden stars, just for the sake of reducing the empty space at the top. Lacked a sentiment, used my Dymo.No stamping at all.
